Urine is tough on a mattress. It passes through the cover into the foam, dries into a yellow ring and leaves a sharp smell that returns every time the bed warms up. Bed-wetting while a child learns to stay dry at night, an ageing dog or cat, or an adult accident can all leave a mark that a quick wipe will not fix.
Call our Bulimba booking line and tell us how old the accident is, roughly how large the area is and whether it has happened more than once in the same spot. We give you an upfront price and book a nearby independent crew who brings enzyme treatments made for urine. The crew can work on fresh accidents and older stains alike.
- Extraction of any moisture still in the mattress
- An enzyme treatment that breaks down the residue behind the smell
- Dwell time so the treatment soaks as deep as the stain did
- Hot water extraction to flush the area
- A deodorising finish once the stain has been worked
- Tips on protecting the mattress from here on
If an accident has just happened, blot up as much as you can with an old towel, pressing firmly rather than rubbing. Avoid soaking it with water, vinegar or bleach, which can spread the stain or set it. Leave the rest for the crew. Old urine stains may fade rather than vanish, but the smell usually drops away a great deal, which is what matters most day to day.
A waterproof protector afterwards makes the next accident far easier to deal with. Urine removal is booked across Bulimba for kids' rooms, guest beds and homes with pets. Call 07 3543 2093 to get your price and a time.
