A fabric headboard gets more wear than most people think. Every time you sit up in bed to read, watch something or have a cup of tea, your hair and skin rub against it. Over months, that leaves a dark band at head height, plus dust in the buttons and seams. Light linen, velvet and bouclé headboards show the marks sooner than darker fabrics.
Our Bulimba booking line takes bookings for headboard cleaning on its own or as part of a mattress steam clean. Tell us the size of the headboard, the fabric if the label shows it, and whether it is buttoned or plain. We give you an upfront price and book a nearby independent crew, so the bed and the headboard can be done in the same visit. Headboards on divan bases and wall-mounted panels can both be cleaned in place.
- A fabric test in a spot out of sight before cleaning
- Detail vacuuming around buttons, piping and seams
- Pre-treatment of the head-height band and makeup marks
- Low-moisture extraction to protect the padding
- Pile brushing on velvet and bouclé so the fabric dries evenly
Headboards are usually attached to the wall or the bed frame, so the crew cleans them in place with a low-moisture approach. Too much water can soak into the padding or leave a ring, which is why the fabric is tested first. If a fabric is not suited to wet cleaning, the crew will explain the options before starting. Pull the bed a few centimetres from the wall afterwards so air reaches the back.
Many homes in Bulimba book the headboard with the mattress so the whole bed feels fresh at once. Call 07 3543 2093 to get your price and a time.
